- UK FRS 102
The updates within version 28 include:
- New disclosure added within the Income Tax disclosure for ‘International tax reform – Pillar Two model rules'.
- Improvements to the final report view after filing with Companies House and corrected the issue when filing with HMRC as a result of the report containing empty cells.
- Updated the 'Average number of employees' disclosure within Employee Information to allow zero as the number of employees.
- Correct display conditions linked to the wording for presenting “revised financial statements”.
- Update the tagging in the ‘iXBRL Detailed P&L’ within the FRS 102 Consolidated Financial Statements report to include the “consolidated” tag dimension. In previous taxonomies this wasn’t available for all profit and loss tags.
- Further improvements to the template when used on the web.
The updates within version 27 include:
- The reports have been updated to meet the new Companies House tagging requirements following the removal of “original data” tag dimension.
- Correction to the “accounts type” tag within the FRS 102 Section 1A - Abridged Financial Statements report.
- Update the 'Group Deferred Tax' disclosure within Income Tax to ensure the XBRL option selected correctly links to the XBRL tag within the report.
The updates within version 26 include:
- This template release includes a fix required to push and use the template on the web version of the application.
The updates within version 25 include:
- The reports have been updated to use the 2023 taxonomy. The same taxonomy can now be used for filings with HMRC and Companies House.
- As a result of using the 2023 taxonomy there have been numerous changes to the tagging in the reports which include the ‘Energy and Carbon Report’ being fully tagged and all tables now updated to use the “currently stated amount default” tag dimension as the “restated amount” tag dimension has been removed. In addition, there are now separate ‘Statement of Changes in Equity’ tables, one to be used when there are adjustments/restatements and one without these movements.
- All column headings within the ‘Statement of Changes in Equity’ now link to the description of the category used for that column in the table.
- The disclosure “not filing an income statement” is now included in the FRS 105 - Micro Entities report.
- Further improvements to the template when used on the web.
- Various fixes to issues with existing disclosures in order to improve the customer experience.
The updates within version 24 include:
- Visible link added to the reports to Edit Data on the Disclosure tab.
- Correct the links to the presentation settings on the Summary tab for all Income Statements.
- Amend the ‘Description’ column within the Company Investments disclosure to prevent this column incorrectly rolling forward.
- Correct issue with the disclosure of Average Number of Employees failing to export to iXBRL.
- Correct the display condition of the 'Going Concern' accounting policy note and Provisions for Liabilities note (FRS 102 Consolidated Financial Statements report only).
- Update the tagging within notes ‘Debtors', 'Creditors’ and the ‘Cash Flow Statement’.
- Further improvements to the template when used on the web.
- Various fixes to issues with existing disclosures in order to improve the customer experience.
The updates within version 22 & 23 include:
- Improve the presentation of the Category Summary report, including edits to the page header to correct the incorrect prior period date being used, and page footer so these link to the settings on the Summary tab.
- Add new reports, based on the Category Summary report, named Category Summary - Format 1 (Function) and Category Summary – Format 2 (Nature).
- New report added named Category Summary – Rounding Variances to allow users to see how the rounding has been applied to each category value.
- Edited the 'Balance Sheet' so the wording for “audit exemptions” and “director responsibilities” are separated and the latter is not repeated when more than one audit exemption is taken
- Updated the Disclosure tab and within the reports to use the title “Energy and carbon report” rather than “Streamlined energy and carbon report”. The “Energy and carbon report’ has been moved to the ‘Strategic Report’ within subsection ‘Non-financial and sustainability information.New tab added to this section on the Disclosure tab to provide options between Voluntary and Mandatory disclosure and the status panel text has been updated to highlight this fact. A total row has also been added to the disclosure ‘Summary of emissions’.
- Update the options on the Disclosure tab within the Management Accounts Table Settings disclosure dialog, primarily to correct the incorrect period dates appearing in the report.
- Correct the tagging within note ‘Trade and other receivables - current’.
- Correct issues/further improvements to disclosures which were preventing the template from pushing to the web.
- Various fixes to issues with existing disclosures in order to improve the customer experience.
The updates within version 21 include:
- Reports updated to use HMRC 2021 taxonomy.
- Amended the options for “filing financial statements with ....”, found on the Summary tab within the General dialog to include a new option named ‘Companies House – filing filleted accounts’. This removes the possibility of leaving the filleted option selected when submitting to HMRC.
- Updated the Revised Financial Statements disclosure dialog and the XBRL tags for this in all reports. Tested filings using the new HMRC taxonomy are accepted (previously on accepted by Companies House).
- New manual data entry tables to enter values for the following sections rather than post journals and use categories to analyse the movements:
- New categories added for “trade and other receivables” as a non-current asset.
- Updated the default wording within the accounting policy 'Basis of preparation' found on the Basis of Preparation disclosure dialog.
- Reviewed all reports and amended where necessary to provide consistency throughout with the use of the wording variables found on the Summary tab within the Report Wording Variables dialog.
- Added notes ‘Obligations under leases and hire purchase contracts’ to the FRS 102 Section 1A - Small Entities report, and note ‘Staff numbers’ to the FRS 102 Dormant Financial Statements report to allow customers to easily disclose this information should they wish.
- Correct issues/further improvements to disclosures which were preventing the template from pushing to the web.
- Various fixes to issues with existing disclosures in order to improve the customer experience.
The updates within version 20 include:
- Updated the 'Independent Auditors Report' per the latest bulletin (August 2021), applicable to periods commencing on/after 1st February 2020.
- Updated XBRL tag dimensions listing all countries to correspond with the latest taxonomies.
- Update tagging used when Revised Financial Statements presented to ensure the reports contain all tags Companies House require in this scenario.
- Correct issues with the primary statements table column headings which link to the settings found within the Report Table Settings dialog on the Summary tab.
- Correct issues with some of the Tax disclosures which were preventing the template from pushing to the web.
- Various fixes to issues with existing disclosures in order to improve the customer experience.
The updates within version 19 include:
- Template updated to allow this to be pushed to the web version of Accounts Production.
- Reports updated to use Companies House 2021 taxonomy.
- Added option to control the currency used in the iXBRL report.
- The Environmental Report within the Directors Report has been tagged for filings with Companies House.
- Auditors Report wording updated where a qualified opinion is provided and new ‘Key audit matters’ disclosure added, found in the Audit Opinion disclosure dialog, and ‘Going concern’ disclosure added, found in the Other (Audit) Disclosures disclosure dialog.
- Disclosures added or wording amended to consider the impact of Covid-19 and/or Brexit in the following locations:
- Accounting Policies - Basis of Preparation Disclosure.
- Strategic Report - Fair Review of the Business.
- Directors Report - Business Review Disclosure.
- Directors Report - Likely Future Developments Disclosure.
- Directors Report - Going Concern Disclosure.
- New option for the presentation of signatories added to the Report Settings dialog on the Summary tab.
- Added a Lead Schedule References dialog on the Summary tab to include references in the printed lead schedule reports.
- New category added for ‘Capital contribution reserve’.
- Updated disclosure for ‘Disposal of a subsidiary’ which has been renamed to Disposalsand now allows for details of more than one disposal to be entered.
- The 'change to landscape' and 'change to portrait' templates in the following locations have been made conditional to be used when a subsequent table can't be presented in portrait:
- Income Tax note
- Analysis of Net Debt note
- All reports reviewed and updated to use wording variables for 'Corporate description' and 'Director description' where appropriate.
- Various fixes to issues with existing disclosures in order to improve the customer experience.
The updates within version 17 & 18 include:
- Removed the tick box for “early adoption of triennial review”. The disclosures that apply following the review are now shown and those no longer applicable have been hidden.
- New disclosures added for Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting for periods beginning after 1 April 2019. These are required for large companies but it is recommended that smaller entities disclose this information.
- New additional disclosures added named Non-Import Custom Disclosures.
- Independent Auditors Report updated per March 2020 Illustrative Auditor’s Reports Bulletin from the FRC.
- New disclosures added to financial instruments for amendments relating to Interest Rate Benchmark Reform.
- New categories added:
- New category added for "other investments" (NCA 4 6) to be used in the Investments note.
- New category added for "difference between net defined benefit liability and the carrying value of a multi-employer defined benefit pension scheme" (SOCIE 9 13) to be used in the Statement of Comprehensive Income.
- New detailed Trade and Other Receivables and Trade and Other Payables tables added to the FRS 102 Section 1A - Small Entities report but are not used by default and will need to be ticked to be included.
- New Other Notes field added on the Summary tab, to disclose notes on the entity that roll forward (are not period specific unlike the existing Period Notes which don't roll forward).
- New field added on the Summary tab, General section to enter Unique Taxpayer Reference. To be used when filing with HMRC is a companies registration number is not provided.
- New iXBRL tag validation added for "Average Number of Employees During Period". To be used when filing with Companies House ahead of 13th October when this validation is mandatory.
- Various bug fixes.
The updates within version 16 include:
- Various bug fixes including correcting the display issue with the Tax Reconciliation note.
- Edited the tags found in the Statement of Changes in Equity and Balance Sheet to avoid tagging errors when a restatement is posted.
- Version 15 - platform build 6.24 onwards
- Version 15 of the template includes the following changes:

- Updated all reports to use the 2019 taxonomies accepted by HMRC and Companies House.
- The changes resulting from the triennial review as well as a checkbox on the General dialog to choose whether or not to adopt them.
- New disclosures added to comply with Corporate Governance disclosures (including Wates Principles) for large companies.
- New disclosures for Companies Miscellaneous Reporting Regulations.
- Option to disclose within the Audit Report the fact that comparative values have not been audited and were covered by exemption.
- New disclosures added within the Audit Report:
- The impact of uncertainties resulting from Brexit.
- Other significant developments.
- Option added to import data from Excel on the Company Investments disclosure dialog for Investments in Subsidiaries, Joint Ventures and Associates; new tables have been created to list all investments as an alternative method of adding this information.

- New categories added for share capital (within E 1 categories) to enable opening balances to roll forward.

- New disclosure for entity's former name on the General dialog.
- Disclosure added to the Directors' Report to disclose the fact that information has been included in the Strategic Report that would normally be in the Directors' Report.
- Warning added to tables on the Disclosure tab where a blank row may have been created in error.
- The 'change to landscape' and 'change to portrait' templates in the following locations have been made conditional to be used when a subsequent table can't be presented in portrait:
